Taverna dos Bębobos was opened in Porto in 1876 (!), yet it still manages to attract many customers for its hearty atmosphere, good prices and tasty food.
In this restaurant that is, as could be expected, the oldest restaurant in Porto, you can enjoy traditional Portuguese cuisine and beautiful views of the Douro River. The atmosphere is old-fashioned, romantic and intimate and visitors can stop praising the welcoming and friendly character of the place and its charming owner José.
It may not be a tavern of drunks (English for Taverna dos Bębobos) of its old days, but the high spirits in the place might make you think that it still is.
